The inaugural meeting was held in the Central Auditorium in the Yangjia Ridge of Yan’an on April 10, 1938, and Mao Zedong wrote the school motto: “Intense, earnest, assiduous, and modest”. In April 1943, the college was merged into Yan’an University. After the victory of Anti-Japanese War, the college moved to Northeast China.
