Miao Naizhou, Professor, Dean
Miao Naizhou, professor, dean of the college, member of the Anatomy Association of China, standing member of the Council of Anatomy Association of Shaanxi, and standing member of the Council of Sexology
Professor Miao graduated from the Medical College of Xi’an in 1978, and has been engaged in teaching in histology and embryology for over twenty years. He is very experienced in teaching and has relatively deep academic accomplishments, having attained the Excellent Award for Quality Teaching for ten years, and published scores of papers in China and internationally. He has original viewpoints in sexology, and has freed hundreds of patients, who suffer from sexual disorder, from their unspeakable problems.
Major works: Guidance to the Field Work in Histology and Embryology, The Spermicidal Function of AES and Its Influence on the Ultramicro-Structure of Sperms and Exploring the Difference between Human Beings and Mice in the Proliferation of Endometrial Cell by labeling cells with PCNA.

Hui Qiyuan, Professor, Vice Dean
Hui Qiyuan, professor, Vice Dean of the college, Director of Pathology Teaching Office, standing member of the Council of Association of Medicine of Shaanxi and standing member of the Council of the Pathology Branch of the Association, standing member of the Council of Anticancer Association of Shaanxi, member of the Commission of Tumor Pathology, and member of the Editorial Committee of the Journal of Yan’an University (medical edition).
Professor Hui has been teaching in pathology, and working in pathological test since he graduated from Yan’an University. He has won the Excellent Award for Quality Teaching five times, and participated in compiling three textbooks in pathology and fieldwork. He has committed himself to the research in prevention and cure of liver and stomach cancers in northern Shaanxi for many years, and has undertaken five provincial research projects. He has written over 40 research papers, and won three fellowships from the Provincial Anticancer Association, and one first-place award for progress in science and technology.

Hui Qingfa, Professor
Hui Qingfa, professor, advisor of graduate students, Director of the Offices of Parasitology Teaching, Research Office of Verminosis, and Laboratory of Pathogeny Biology.
Professor Hui is mainly engaged in teaching and research in human Parasitology and clinical Verminosis. He is a person of exemplary virtue, imparting knowledge and educating students, and has won the awards for excellent teachers, quality teaching, and advanced workers many times. He has finished three research projects funded by the provincial government and the university, and has published over 60 research papers. He has filled in the blank space in four clinical tests in northern Shaanxi, among which the Aetiological Diagnosis and Medicinal Control of Acariasis has been carried out for nearly twenty years with accumulation of rich experience in diagnosis and unique therapy.
He has carried out the research on common diseases of gynecopathy (trichomonas, vaginitis, colpomycosis and bacterial vaginitis) and toxoplasmosis for ten years, and has brought glad tidings to nearly one thousand patients of male sterility, female sterility, miscarriage, eutocia, still birth, malformation. In the meantime, he has actively developed research on pedagogy and teaching reform, and has won one first-place prize, two second-place prizes, and two third-place prizes for good teaching awarded by the university. He has edited two textbooks. His current research interest is in the diversity of applied zoobiology.

Du Shengli, Chief Physician, Associate Professor, Vice Dean
Du Shengli, chief physician, associate professor, Vice Dean Doctor Du graduated from the Department of Therapy, Beijing Medical College in 1974, and has been doing clinical treatment and teaching at Yan’an University since then. He mainly devotes himself to the clinical research on bone tumor and severe injury of bone and joint, and is good at the improvement of diagnosis, treatment and operative treatment of severe injury of bone and joint. He has written more than ten medical research papers, participated in the Conference of Bone and Joint sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association three times, has won the prize for progress in science and technology at prefecture and city level three times, and has been awarded the titles of advanced worker, excellent advanced worker, and excellent teacher many times. His current research interest is in operative treatment of senile fracture, prevention and cure of senile osteoporosis, and treatment of severe mutilation and injury. |

Professor Zhu graduated from Xi’an Medical College in 1982, and has been engaged in teaching and clinical medicine. He is currently head of the Department of Clinical Medicine, and chief physician of infectious disease at the No. One Hospital Affiliated to Yan’an University. Professor Wang graduated from Yan’an Medical College, and has been engaged in teaching and research in pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, medical Latin language, clinical hemorrheology as well as Chinese herbs. He has won the Prize for Quality Teaching many times, and has edited or participated in editing the first, second, third and fourth editions of A Course of Advanced Pharmacology, the first, second and third editions of A Course of Clinical Pharmacology, Analysis on Clinical Medication, An Outline of Advanced pharmacology, and Praxis in Advanced Pharmacology. He has achievements in the diagnosis and treatment of angiocardiopathy and cerebrovascular disease, and has participated in several provincial projects, among which a large part of basic work on pharmacodynamics and toxicology of Yan’an kernel spot has been done. He has finished the research on pharmacodynamics and toxicology of Chinese medicine coded CB926, which has passed provincial appraisal, and has gone into mass production. He has published scores of research papers, and has won prizes for achievements and progress in science and technology.

Fu Zhaoying, Professor
Fu Zhaoying, Professor, Director of the Teaching Office of Microbiology and Immunology, member of the Council of Association of Immunology of Shaanxi Province, member of Chinese Association of Cell Biology, member of Chinese Association of Neuroscience, and member of the Editorial Committee of Sino-US Journal of Microbiology and Immunology.
Professor Fu acquired his bachelor’s degree from the College of Medicine, Xi’an Jiaotong University, and his master’s degree from the China Academy of Military Medical Sciences. He also studied in the United States for two years, majoring in molecular biology. His current research interest is in the mechanism of formation of cell polarity and division of asymmetric cell in the development of nervous system. He has published in English and Chinese over 40 research papers, and has won prizes for excellent essays and achievements in scientific research many times. He is currently teaching the graduate courses of molecular biology and cell and molecular immunology,undergraduate courses of medical immunology and medical microbiology, and a English-Chinese bilingual class of molecular biology.

Professor Wei has been teaching physiology to undergraduate students and graduate students for many years, and has won the Prize for Quality Teaching twice. She has undertaken three provincial research projects, and a project funded by the National Foundation of Natural Science, and has published nearly 40 research papers and books, of which 11 papers were published in referred journals. She has won two awards for achievements in science and technology at city level, and more than ten prizes for excellent essays at university and college levels.

Wei Xiaoli, Professor, Chief Physician, member of the Chinese Association of Pathology
Professor Wei graduated from the former Department of Medicine, Yan’an University, and has been engaged in teaching pathology and research and diagnosis in clinical pathology since 1984. She is good at histopathological diagnosis of tumor and gynaecological diseases. She has participated in three research projects at provincial level, has published over 50 research papers, of which ten were published in referred journals, and has co-edited three textbooks. She has won the Prize for Quality Teaching five times, and several titles for advanced workers. She was member of the Pathology Branch of the Appraisal Commission for Qualification of Senior Professional Technology in Hygiene of Shaanxi Province in 2003 and 2004.

Professor Xu graduated from the former Department of Medicine, Yan’an University in 1984, and has acquired his master’s degree of education and literature from the Open University of Hong Kong in 2004. He has been engaged in teaching biochemistry, research and administration.
He has undertaken or participated in three provincial research projects, edited or co-edited five textbooks and published over 30 papers. He has won several titles for advanced educators at provincial level. His research interest is in molecular biology of tumor.

| Shi Yangyong, Professor
Professor Shi graduated from the Department of Medicine, Xi’an College of Medicine in 1983, and took advanced studies twice. He was Director of the Teaching and Research Office of Physiology, and for a period of time, was also Director of the Laboratory of Ergology from 1985 to 2004.
He was responsible for the key course construction of biology and the construction of the Laboratory of Ergology. The former was rated as an Excellent Course at university level, and the latter was evaluated as being qualified at provincial level. He has edited one textbook, and published scores of research papers on teaching research. The Biological Abstracts and the Chemical Abstracts have embodied some of his papers. He has participated in many research projects funded by the National Foundation of Natural Science, Shaanxi Provincial Government, and the Provincial Department of Education of Shaanxi Province.
His major interests are in the structure and function of muscle spindle and the influence of medicine on the introductive discharge of muscle spindle.

Huo Manpeng, Professor, Vice Dean
Huo Manpeng, Professor, Master of Science, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine, Director of the Research Institute of Genetics, member of the Political Consultative Committee of Shaanxi Province, representative of the People’s Congress of Yan’an City, specially invited supervisor of the Public Safety of Yan’an City, specially invited supervisor of the Inspection Office of Yan’an City, member of the Council of Association of Genetics of Shaanxi Province, member of the Council of Association of Zoology of Shaanxi Province, and member of the Council of the Northwest Branch of the National Association of Medical Biology.
Professor Huo is mainly engaged in teaching and research in medical genetics and cytobiology, administration and activities of democratic party. H enjoys high reputation in the research on clinical molecular cytogenetics, genetic diagnosis, PCR test, and chromosome technique. He has finished 18 research projects funded by the national, provincial and city governments, and has published 78 research papers domestically and internationally, and edited nine higher-education textbooks and monographs.
He has won a third-rate Prize for Progress in Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province and a first-rate prize by the People’s Government of Yan’an City with his project, Research on Molecular Cytogenetics of Malignant Tumor of Digestive Tract, and won two prizes for excellent research papers by the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province with his papers, “Application of chromosome technique in Clinical Genetic Diagnosis” and “An Cytogenic Analysis on the habitual abortion of 129 Couples, and won two prizes for excellent research papers by the Association of Science and Technology and the Department of Personnel of Shaanxi Province with his papers, “A Clinical Cytogenetical Research on the Syndrome of the thirteenth circular chromosome” and “A Genetic Analysis on the Carriers Balanced Translocation. He has also presented 65 bills to the provincial and city governments.
Professor Huo has received 36 prizes for scientific achievements and 31 honorable certificates. His accomplishments have been embodied in Canon of Excellent Medical Specialists in the World (Third edition), Talent Bank of Chinese Experts (seventh edition), and Record of Mien of Members of the Political Consultative Committee (Shaanxi volume).
